  1. Blarney says:

My new life goal is to visit this establishment!

  2. ta192 says:

Seriously, how vastly superior is this notice to what would likely be posted outside a bar in the US. Blarney’s post sums it up, after reading this, you want to go to that pub…

  3. homey says:

why not resume on Friday the 13th?

    • Thalia says:

That would take longer, since they would have to wait for a month in which the thirteenth is on a Friday.

  4. notts says:

Finally my home town is famous for something

  5. Bucky says:

That’s what SHE sai- oh, never mind.

  6. Moni says:

    thats my birthday!!! HEHE!!!

  7. Yippee says:

Yeah, so where I come from a boner is an erection… I am equally happy with the headline, daytime tv gives me a boner too 🙂

  8. Stephen says:

Haha I go their quite often and the staff are always drunk good bar u should go !

  9. cakey says:

Yeahh I’m not surprised. This is Nottingham. We’re used to f**k-ups and free shots.

  10. Marv says:

Boner: Ex Mayor of Nashville TN

  11. demonyc says:

too many fails are of already deliberatley wrong things and fialblog thinks its clever “discovering” it.

in this case anyone with any cultural knowledge knows the phrase “cock up” and is past giggling.

    this is a fail fail.

    • Skyfire says:

See, this why I hate that all the ICHC sites are being combined.

The stuff on Oddly Specific, Hacked IRL, and There I Fixed It aren’t, strictly speaking, ‘fails’, and putting them on FAILBlog just confuses people.

    • Pob says:

@demonyc What are you on about?

      (a) This isn’t FailBlog, it’s Oddly Specific.

      (b) If this *were* FailBlog, then the fail would be forgetting to renew the licence, not the wording of the sign.

      Sigh.

  12. Just to clarify says:

Despite what one or two people seem to have assumed, this poster is clearly from the US (which has several Nottinghams, according to Wikipedia). In Britain it would be “licence”, not “license”.

    • skwirel says:

yes, because those who forget to renew their licence due to inebriation are finicky about their spelling too…

plus loads of programs default to EN-US dictionaries, so easy to just auto-correct to the wrong spelling =P

    • Scuzzles says:

True they spelt “License” the American way but they also spelt “Apologise” the British way… much more likely this is a British pub I think.

    • moosluvr says:

But they dated it in European fashion: 13th October. In the US it would have read: October 13th.

    • Thalia says:

Then it’s settled. This is in England.

    • It's Robin hood county! says:

I live in Nottingham in the U.K; I saw this notice in the window before it was up here..and someone has already given the address of the bar. It’s definitely from the U.K 🙂

    • GOD.... says:

Just to clarify..u isa n idiot..its in the UK.now I know Thatwe brits are in NATO (North American Terittories Overseas)..but hey u still an irriott..

    • Duamuteffe says:

I always thought God would be able to spell better than that. Explains a lot, really.

    • jic says:

A few months ago I was walking past a gym and I saw a sign outside for “self defense” classes. I was in England immediately before I saw that sign – but you’ve shown me that I must have been transported to America at that very moment, then transported back the moment after.

  13. Aimee says:

Where is this? I need to know!

  14. Hollanda says:

It IS in Nottingham, we saw it and we go there ALL the time. It’s a fab little pub. Not a wine bar, not a poncy gastro-pub, just a good old fashioned, very British pub!! The staff are great, there is NEVER any hassle in there and the atmosphere is great. 🙂 Definitely go there. It’s very much worth it. There are few places like this left, so if you are in Nottingham (UK) then make an effort to go!! 🙂

  15. You mean Fourside.

Because clearly Pokey owns this building. (Apologize Profusely?)

  16. david says:

haha so good to see ride and nottingham on here randomly! was there a couple of days ago, nice pub and not too expensive for the centre of town. i wouldn’t say it’s a proper traditional pub though. just kinda like a pub/bar type place.

  17. BodyMassage says:

There’s a northern barman that works there. I forget his name, maybe Terry? Anyway, he’s always loosing the game.

  18. T-Dogg says:

Best bar in Nottingham. No questions.

  19. T-Dogg says:

Best bar in Nottingham. Nottigham, ENGLAND!!!!

  20. Bev says:

i like this free international ride promotion, free jagerbomb for whoever posted this!
