That’s awesome, but sadly fake (unless they’ve updated the sign in strange ways in the last little while I suppose, heh). Love the Flight of the Conchords reference though.
Ya it is fake. I’ve lived in Ottawa for 16 years and I have seen that sign. The bottom corner is an airport sign
OK, I give up. What in the world could this possibly be the international symbol for, other than business socks?
This is shopped. I drive by this sign about once a week. that bottom corner icon is normally a poppy denoting that there is a chapter of the Legion there.
My mistake it actually did look like that briefly. But it still doesn’t belong on oddly specific. It belongs on HackedIRL

I also agree that the proper place for it is neither Oddly Specific nor FailBlog, but HackedIRL.
This is incorrect. This isn’t shopped. About a year back the sign was displayed with one empty square, and somebody decided to fill it in with this. It was fixed within a couple days.
HackedIRLs are usually things that have been physically modified, not Photoshopped.
No Thrawn! You weren’t supposed to say that! Now everyone will know that Ottawa sucks. (Aww, what the heck..I don’t really care either way.)
It is now, the township replaced it. The sign was hacked about a year ago – it made the local paper here.

Considering the general behavior of the Canadians that moved into my neighborhood last month, this doesn’t really seem all that far fetched.

Nope. It was real. Someone went to the trouble of vandalizing it. Honestly, why leave a blank? It was asking for it. Part of the problem is how well done the prank was pulled off.
