    Tired of 4:20 jokes?

  2. J says:

It takes a minute to roll a quality spliff, dontchaknow

  3. rastaferal says:

Well it would have looked suspiscious if they had left before 4:20. 🙂

    • Lizard says:

yeah I think the boss did this on purpose to make the stoners stay one minute too late 😛

  4. Travis says:

I think this is the first sign I have seen on this site that really is “oddly specific”

  5. Sarah says:

I wonder if they have a 21 minute lunch break.

  6. Sarge says:

Your tax dollars not at work all day.

  7. They have a work week of exactly 41 hours 45 minutes.

    • JRKS says:

break out the calculator much? Thank you, come again!

    • sputnik says:

not quite. this photo was taken in Darwin, NT Australia. Standard public service hours – you forgot lunch breaks of 45 mins each day. 38 hour week.

    • becsh says:

Yep, I work in the public service in Darwin and that’s the standard opening hours for heaps of places around here. It’s 3:04pm now and I’m watching the clock for another 77 minutes till it’s home time.

  8. the_strange_cat says:

Hmm…middle and high schools in the local public school system start at exactly 7:36 a.m…….specific much?

  9. Barbara Fairhurst says:

Sputnik is correct – definitely Darwin, NT.

  10. Sarah says:

This is standard hours for government departments in the northern territory Australia.

    • Matt says:

I’m currently in a Gov department in Melbourne, Australia. My training times for the last couple of weeks were 8:30 to 4:51, so same amount of time just shifted 30 mins. Seems to be fairly standard for government departments in Aus, something about 147 working hours per month or something.

  11. Taurin says:

I’ve worked in the government and I understand entirely. They’re actually likely done at 4:30, but don’t accept new enquiries after 4:21, giving them 9 minutes to wrap up what they’re working on. They probably changed the sign because they had too many asshats coming in and demanding service at 4:29.
