Be very fearful of the battery-operated geese, because someone let them into Radio Shack.

I’d love to know the real story behind this sign.

    • just_another_person says:

I’ve seen this sign in real life at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry.) There’s this cow statue built out of electrical parts on display there. Portland had this thing about cow statues a few years back, you see…then it was salmon statues. Then bears.

    • Yes, it’s on the glass area in front of the mezzanine. I walked by it every day whenever I went to volunteer there.

Is “cow” an abbreviation or acronym of some sort?

  3. Mlg says:

At last! The solution to the energy crisis! The electric cow! (Patent pending, no doubt.)

  4. malkatz says:

The Cow is a buttplug from the creators of The Rabbit.

  5. Kelli says:

I want to see a picture of this cow

  6. Geisha_Girl says:

Oh, sure, now I REALLY wanna plug in the cow! And how big a building is it? Can I look forward to hours of watching employees run after it with brooms and rakes until they finally figure out that all they have to do is go to the wall outlet and UNPLUG THE COW AGAIN?

    • just_another_person says:

it’s a big building. And I’m sure the cow and the T-Rex will be best friends.

  7. PS says:

This is at OMSI in Portland.

  8. kb says:

    Udderly stupid.

  9. LeeshaJoy says:

You’d think that being plugged in to the wall would prevent it from running very far. Or if it did, you could just pull on the cord to reel it back in.

  10. Superfae says:

not sure if it stands for anything, but i’m pretty sure this is from a school or something, and the “cow” is basically a cart that you plug about 20 or 30 computers into at the same time so all the laptops are charged when the class needs to use them, but the actual “cow” has to be plugged in first.

….at least that’s what it is at MY school….

  11. An android says:

I had a dream about one of those last night. It made a nice change.

  12. Bruised Almighty says:

Probably has a battery. Plug her in and she charges all over the building

  13. Dave says:

only COW acronym I know is Computer On Wheels – could be that… mind u, they kind of need plugging in to charge them!

  14. graham says:

damn. i was hoping it would be a animatronics cow that would run all over the place when the battery is full, so they keep the battery uncharged, but they cab’t tell if it’s plugged in until the battery is full. then it activates, unplugs itself, and runs like hell.

  16. rupert says:

better an electric cow, than a battery hen. zing

  17. Deb says:

if it’s plugged in .. can’t they pull on the cord to catch it ?

  18. HelenaTroy says:

This created such a beautifully vivid mental picture …
