And may or may not be wearing a really creepy smile. And/or clothing.

  2. Truthiness says:

I don’t know why this is funny. This is a sign they stick on your door so you’re not alarmed by your door standing open when you come home to your apartment. I guess if you don’t rent it wouldn’t make sense to you.

    • Hawkin says:

Not just apartments. Many maintenance and/or cleaning companies use similar signs any time they arrive at an assignment when no one is home.

The amusing part is mostly the creepy cartoon face and the overzealous emphasis on “IS” and “now.”

    • Hope says:

It makes perfect sense. It’s funny because the sign is so odd.

I want to get some of these and just put them on people’s doors. Or change the picture so it has a guy peeking from behind a door or couch. Or instead of a guy, Pedobear.

I wish the last apartment I lived in did this. The maintenance guys just came in whenever with no warning. One time the guy walked into my bedroom while I was sleeping without knocking and another time, one of them walked in on me and my boyfriend having sex. They had a tendency to steal any cash of jewelry they could find, so I’m sure walking in on people in their bedrooms isn’t accidental. Both times it scared the crap out of me.

In what kind of hellish dimension or parallel universe do you live?! New Jersey? It should state in your rental agreement that you’re supposed to be given 24 hrs notice before a nontenant enters your apt! But you let it happen twice? I suspect you’re starting to like that sort of thing . . .

“Jill, this is sergeant Sacker. Listen to me. We’ve traced the call… it’s coming from inside the house. Now a squad car’s coming over there right now, just get out of that house! ”

  9. Daniel says:

This is fairly common with people who have maintenance access in their apartments. Not that big of a deal and more so for safety of everyone involved.
