Stickmen In Peril

If a picture is worth a thousand words, I have to imagine that for Stickman, at least 998 of those words must be “HELP”. Poor Stickman gets the shaft. Whenever an Oddly Specific sign needs a scapegoat to get its point across, he’s their man. It has to be the most thankless job in the world…next to these guys.

Do Not Taunt The Octopus

Stickman has been ripped in half by an extra from 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Danger: Fragile Roof

He’s been callously left on an unstable hot tin roof

Warning: Rotating Drive Line
Subjected to extreme chiropractic measures

Keep Up Hopes

And he’s even been mocked whilst trying to find a moment to weep for his lot in life.
But no more! We here at Oddly Specific salute you, brave artistic representation of the human form. If you see Stickman in a compromising position, snap a photo and send it in. Let him know you care.

I can’t help but think the last one must be some sort of ad campaign.

  2. Rob Lanphier says:

More stickmen in peril in this video:

In particular, watch between 8:30 and 9:00

  3. Emily says:

This is going back almost eight years, but when I was in Paris I saw signs all over the Metro tunnels indicating a (rather sharply-dressed) Stickman being dramatically electrocuted on some thing or other. I can’t find it on the webs now, but maybe someone else has a pic?

  4. Emily says:

    Found it! Aaaand… sent.

  5. Ryan says:

I think that first picture would be more aptly captioned “Do not taunt Cthulhu.”

  6. Jess Carter says:

You gotta feel sorry for the first bloke – he’s taunted the octopus. And has been sliced in two as a result.

  7. Jessi says:

The last one makes me so very sad.

  8. Ultros says:

    Don’t tease the octopus, kids!

  9. L says:

I thought he was tag-teaming with himself so he can face the octopus. This section should have a spoiler alert sign. What are you guys going to say next? That he’s not the elastic man on the third one either?! Un-frickin’-believable.

Seriously though, the last one is absolutely insensitive. Cold hearted bastards.

  10. E says:

I can’t help but involuntarily attempt to commit suicide by laughter every time I see the octopus one.

  11. Kefka says:

Don’t tease the octopus, kids! ~FF6

  12. spelling says:

it’s 20,000 leagues under the sea, not 10,000…

  13. Mike says:

Where is the Octopus one from?

  14. Zotar says:

The rotating drive-line warning is actually quite common… mainly with farm equipment pulled by tractors.

The last one would in fact cheer me up. It is so humorously placed.

  15. Lin says:

Thank you, spelling. Yes, it is in fact “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” Jules Verne ftw.

  16. Aaaugh! says:

The “Do Not Taunt the Octopus” is a sign from a website with several other awesome signs like this, called Terminal Packet Loss.

If you have not seen, you must visit the Flickr group: “Stick Figures in Peril”. Truly wonderful. http://www.flickr.com/groups/stickfiguresinperil/

  18. Suki says:

Oh, Sad Keanu. You should never have taunted the octopus.
